Senior specialist, Dr.Soc.Sc. Sakari Kainulainen works as an expert (RDI) at the Diakonia University of Applied Sciences (DiakHub) and is an adjunct professor at two Finnish universities.
He has been an academic researcher for over 30 years. Before the academic career, he was an entrepreneur for a decade.
He has done research on well-being and disadvantage and has published 30 referee articles and about 100 other scientific papers. He has been a President of the Finnish Social Policy Association, Member of the National Advisory Board on Social Welfare and Health Care Ethics ETENE, the National Network of Experts in Measurement and Assessment of Functional Capability (TOIMIA, chair of social group), and a Chair of the Research Council of the Intellectual Disability Association. He has developed metrics for measuring well-being.
