The purposes of processing the personal data

ScalED - Scalable Education Solutions for Global Markets -project (Public name PINO Network) collects company information and maintains company register. The register information is used in the project's marketing and communication.

PINO Network also collects information about participants of PINO Network events. This information is used for communication and organizing the events.

Information of participants and companies will be given to the project funder according to the funder’s demands.

Automated decision-making or profiling based on personal data

University of Oulu does not have any automated decision-making or profiling tools based on personal data.

Personal data used in the service

Name, email address, phone number, company/organization name, company ID, address, information related to organizing the events.

Data sources

Persons/companies register themselves for project members, newsletter recipients and/or event participants.

Data processors (roles that can access the data)

Project staff related to their task and also IT service staff related to their tasks.

Transfers of personal data to other services (both inside University of Oulu and to other services inside the EU)

Personal information is not transferred to other services.

The electronic information is handled confidentially and kept in a system organized by University of Oulu, which requires access rights and strong authentication. Right to access personal data are based on personal usernames and passwords and their use is monitored. Access rights are granted to persons whose duty is to receive or otherwise handle the documents which include personal information.

Data retention period (how long the data will be kept)

The information will be kept until the end of the ScalED-project and for another 6 months.

International data transfers outside the EU or the EEA

With the exception of the data used for email notification the personal data is not transferred outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.

MailChimp service is used for email notification and email list management, with which we have an agreement on data protection. The MailChimp provider is committed to complying with the US Department of Commerce and the EU-approved Safe Harbor Privacy and Privacy Policy, which guarantees an adequate level of data protection.
